Backyard Birds

$12 - What birds are year-round residents and what birds migrate to VA to spend the winter? Learn about the songbirds and woodpeckers that are common visitors to the park and area backyard feeders. Everyone will get to make an upcycle/recycle bird feeder and mealworm bird treats to go along with a Roanoke Valley bird checklist to help attract and keep track of who’s visiting your yard. All supplies and instruction are included. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Program meets at Explore Park Visitor Center.
