Description
Are you looking for a way to add meaningful laboratory instruction and experiential education activities to your science curriculum? Nature Lab is a six week SOL based science program for homeschool and virtual students taught by a fully licensed teacher in Mill Mountain Park that allows for hands on/minds on weekly science exploration. Students regularly pursue deeper understandings of scientific principles by carrying out investigations, interpreting and analyzing scientific data, playing thematic games, making real-time observations in their journals of natural phenomenon, comparing and contrasting the intricacies of abiotic and biotic ecosystem components while generally exploring the natural beauty in each season of Mill Mountain. Certainly, a side benefit to all of our fun hiking, observing, creating, investigating and sharing is enhanced social emotional well-being and awareness for student participants. Courses will be held on Wednesdays starting on April 16th to May 21st, from 9 AM to 11 AM. Class materials are included in the course fee. Register by 04/11 . *Please note that we will follow the Roanoke City Public Schools protocol for inclement weather. If city schools are cancelled then Nature Lab will be cancelled. If city schools operate on a 1 or 2 hour delay, then Nature Lab will do the same
