World Drumming: West African Rhythms

Description

This hands-on experience will introduce rhythms from Guinea, Mali, Ivory Coast, Liberia, and South Africa using traditional instruments like the djembe and dununba bass drums. You’ll learn how different rhythms layer together to create something powerful, expressive, and honestly just fun to be part of. This is not a sit-and-watch kind of program. You’ll be actively playing, learning, and building rhythm with the group. No experience needed. What to expect: • Guided instruction in traditional rhythms • Group drumming and shared musical experience • A welcoming, low-pressure environment • A chance to try something new Drumming has a way of bringing people together. It helps reduce stress, improve focus, and creates a strong sense of connection through shared rhythm and movement. Whether you’re curious, need a reset, or just want to try something different, this is a great place to start. All skill levels welcome. You’ll fit right in.
