Beltane Gathering

Join us for a Beltane gathering - an invitation to honor the dance of life and celebrate a sacred time of fertility, love and sensuality. The sun's power continues to grow, and the newness of spring begins to give way to the fullness of summer. We meet outside, in a circle, and open ourselves to learn from the earth and trees, the waters and sky, and all living beings, human and more than human. This gathering will include contemplative practices, silent wandering, and fellowship. We are a diverse, LGBTQ+ affirming community and welcome all faiths and beliefs. Please join us! Sign up at roanokechurchofthewild.com to let us know you're coming! To Bring: A camp chair or blanket to sit on. There is no seating available at the site. What you need to be comfortable. Wear clothing that will be comfortable outside for an extended period, and wear sturdy shoes. Consider bringing water to drink and tick repellent. Food to share (optional). Our food theme for this gathering is Emerging! What is emerging this season, or in your life? If nothing comes to mind, bring whatever appeals to you! Locally produced items or something you made are ideal. Note: We are meeting at Fishburn Park for Beltane! This site is more accessible than Happy Hollow. Those with limited mobility can be dropped off at the lower part of the park, near where we are meeting. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early so that we can get you settled before the gathering starts. Note that the restrooms are at the top of the hill next to the parking lot. Carpool to reduce our impact on the earth. Arrive early to allow time to walk down the hill and get settled. The gathering will occur regardless of weather. We have reserved a pavilion in case it is needed during our event. Please dress appropriately and bring something to sit on to increase your comfort.
