Description
Meridiane is an international collective currently based in the Appalachian valleys of southwestern Virginia. The earliest incarnations of the music were performed by main songwriter Joshua Strachan (Vaura, Desolation Colony) and cellist Kaily Schenker (Solar Hex, Universal Light) one winter night in an Oddfellows Lodge in Blacksburg, Virginia in January of 2020. A small-to-medium capacity nonprofit music venue on Kirk Avenue downtown, run by Down By Downtown Music. The building used to be Kirk Avenue Music Hall. Good sound design and acoustics. The acts are all over the board, from solo pickers to thrash\punk bands. Over 500 shows in nearly a decade. Helped launch Morgan Wade. Books local talent and national touring acts. Also does film screenings and private events.
