Music on the Corner Concert Series

The final concert of this program year for Music on the Corner will be on Friday, May 15th, at 6:00 PM in St. John’s Episcopal Church at the corner of Jefferson and Elm Streets in downtown Roanoke. The concert will feature a performance by the popular Roanoque Baroque Ensemble. Roanoque Baroque was established in 2022 to create a community of instrumentalists and singers who would collaborate in instrumental and vocal ensembles to perform in the Roanoke Valley and beyond. Their repertoire includes musical master pieces from the Renaissance to the Contemporary era, with an emphasis on music of the eighteenth century, bringing together a diverse range of musicians, audiences and settings. The Music on the Corner concert, entitled “A Tour of Italy,” will feature works by Carissimi, Albinoni, Viviani, Durante and Sammartini. There will be a Meet the Artists reception at the church following the concert. The concert is free, open to the public, and family friendly, but not suitable for small children.
