Summer START: Color

Description

START your summer with creativity! Designed for students who have completed Third Grade and up, Summer START: Color introduces young artists to one of the most powerful elements of art. Through hands-on activities, gallery exploration, and creative projects, students will learn how artists use color to create mood, tell stories, and bring ideas to life. Each class begins with an engaging introduction to the day s concept, followed by a visit to the galleries where students will discover real-world examples in works of art. Back in the classroom, they ll put their new knowledge into practice by creating their own original artwork. Led by an experienced art educator with more than 20 years of classroom teaching experience, Summer START provides a supportive, age-appropriate environment where students can build artistic skills, confidence, and creativity. While students enjoy their class, parents and caregivers are welcome to explore the galleries or relax in the Glassroom. Registration r

More about Taubman Museum of Art

The Taubman is a striking 75,000 square foot Randall Stout-designed building that's hard to miss. Inside are a dozen galleries and a steady rotation of exhibitions throughout the year. They also run evening events, lectures, and community nights that bring in a different crowd than the usual downtown flow. Even if you're just passing through, the space itself is worth seeing.
