Description
Kerosene Willy is freestyle rock n’ roll roots music at its finest. With roots in the jam and blues scene in St. Louis, KW has been burning up grooves for more than a quarter century. A blend of rock, blues, jazz, country, bluegrass, funk, and world beat, the Willy has been doing the “jam-band” thing since there was barely a term. A set of KW is eclectic and improvisatory boogieing blend of organic spontaneity that takes the audience on a journey through the menage of sound and color, space and time. Every show is unique. Every show is different. Every show brings an experience blended from the soulful and powerful delivery of well-crafted original music and choice covers.
The group boasts an all-star cast of seasoned musicians: Dave “Chopper” Campbell, guitar and vocals, formerly of Dark Star Orchestra, Dancing Earth Reunion (Blue Dixie), Haw Patch Mountain Boys, The Schwag, and has also played with such greats as rock founder and legend Chuck Berry, Grammy-winning artist Jim Lauderdale, and Mike Gordon of Phish; John McBroom, bass and vocals, formerly of Red Weather until 1999, Blue Mule, GOTE, M.C. Broom & The Jam!
