Description
Start your morning at Mill Mountain Zoo with a one-of-a-kind dining and discovery experience. Guests will enjoy a light breakfast provided by Scratch Biscuit Co. and Crooked Rook Cookery, followed by a special introduction to one of the zoo’s education ambassador animals. From there, the experience continues with a guided tour led by our zoo educators, offering a closer look at animal behavior, diets, and the unique adaptations that help them survive in the wild. This program highlights a variety of piscivores—animals that rely on fish as a key part of their diet—including Asian small-clawed otters, bald eagles, and North American black bear. Guests will also meet select ambassador reptiles such as box turtles, red-eared sliders, and Amazon side-neck turtles. Throughout the morning, educators will share engaging keeper chats that connect each species to its role in the ecosystem, along with ongoing conservation efforts to protect their habitats. The experience concludes with a hands-on, child-friendly craft designed to reinforce the morning’s theme and encourage continued learning at home. This is a relaxed, interactive program perfect for families, wildlife enthusiasts, and curious minds of all ages. Cost per breakfast: $25/non-member $20/member Children 2 and under are free
