Ken Miller: Norfolk & Western Company Photographers Tuesday, August 25, 7pm O. Winston Link Theatre $5 admission at the door Long before O. Winston Link became aware of the Norfolk and Western Railroad, a small group of outstanding company photographers recorded the N&W and its surroundings. That included several night photos almost two decades before Link shot his first N&W Project image in 1955. Learn more about these company photographers, and take a deep dive into Roanoke's rail history in this lecture from Norfolk & Western Historical Society archivist Ken Miller. Lecture will be held in the O. Winston Link Theatre on Tuesday, August 25 at 7pm. Admission is $5.

The O. Winston Link Museum focuses on black-and-white photography of Norfolk & Western steam trains from the 1950s. There are over 300 images, many shot at night, which is part of what makes them interesting. It's located in the old railway station right next to Hotel Roanoke. If you have interest in trains or photography, it's worth the time.
