Music on the Corner Concert Series

Music on the Corner Concert series kicks off the 2026/27 season at St. John's Episcopal Church with a departure from our usual musical offerings. Please plan to join St. John's musicians and other local artists for an evening of the musical hilarity of P.D.Q. Bach. This Bach is the fictional "last and least" son of the famous Bach family, invented by American composer and musical satirist Peter Schickele. Over a career spanning more than five decades, Schickele delighter audiences by presenting the "newly discovered" works of this imaginary composer, PDQ Bach. Concerts feature a blending of affectionate parodies of Baroque and Classical music with mock musicological scholarship and witty humor. The evening will be narrated by one of Roanoke's favorite tenors, Nick Leitch. The concert will begin at 6:00 PM and admission is free. The event is family friendly, but not suitable for small children.
