Harvest Moon Hike

Description

$10 - On the evening of September 26th, the moon will rise as the sun is setting in an abundance of bright moonlight early in the evening. Traditionally, this extra light aided farmers and crews in harvesting their summer-grown crops. Hence, the "Harvest" Moon! Join us as we watch the sun set and the moon rise, followed by a night walk along the new greenway at Explore Park!

More about Explore Park

Explore Park sits just off the Blue Ridge Parkway at milepost 115 and covers a huge stretch of land along the river. There are over 14 miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking, plus river access and things like the Treetop Quest zip lines. Twin Creeks Brewpub (Brugh Tavern) runs out there, which makes it easy to turn a day outside into a full hang session. You can camp in cabins, yurts, or go primitive, and most events lean into outdoor and seasonal programming at the Park but Brugh Tavern has a great outdoor stage for music.
