Description
Virginia indie band Palmyra brings a bold new concert experience to Fitzpatrick Hall on Friday, November 6 and it is unlike anything we have presented before.Rather than a traditional stage, the performance is built in the round, with the band performing in the center of the room surrounded by the audience on all sides. It is intimate, immersive, and intentionally designed to feel less like a conventional concert and more like a gathering of community. Palmyra will be debuting mostly new material from an unreleased forthcoming album, giving Roanoke audiences an early and exclusive look at where the band is headed.Tickets are completely pay-what-you-can, reflecting Palmyra’s commitment to making live music accessible to everyone. Seventy-five percent of all ticket proceeds will go directly to supporting the Music Lab at Jefferson Center, a program close to the hearts of all three band members, who grew up in the region. The evening opens with a performance from Music Lab students, young musicians from our own community sharing the stage with one of Virginia’s most exciting independent acts.

More about Jefferson Center
Jefferson Center is a performing arts venue in a wonderful 1920s building that used to be Jefferson High School. The main space, Shaftman Performance Hall, seats 925 and was modeled after a 17th-century English opera house. The acoustics are better than most places around, which is why so many shows land there.
